Corporate Communications & External Affairs (CCEA) partners across the Chick-fil-A organization to execute effective, compelling communications that build culture, drive change and enhance the reputation of the company. The team delivers strategic messages across a variety of social, digital, video and event platforms to inspire and engage our internal and external audiences.

Specifically, this individual will be a member of the Staff Communications team within CCEA. The role will focus on consulting and collaborating with a set of business leaders within Chick-fil-A to create and execute communications strategies in support of Chick-fil-A Inc., Staff.

Responsibilities will include collaborating with project owners to introduce new programs to Staff; creative storytelling to build understanding and trust; and sharing business strategy and vision with internal audiences. This role directly supports communication strategy and execution for Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s Digital Transformation Technology (DTT), Legal, and Marketing/Innovation departments. This role also supports the Campus Operations team which leads operations across three U.S. office locations. In addition to supporting these departments, this role will also serve as the Staff Communications liaison for integrated work done in partnership with the CCEA Channels team who leads strategy for internal communications channels.

To be successful in this role, the communicator must be resourceful, collaborative, able to quickly learn the business and think and act with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Business partner: Provide leadership and strategic business thinking around key initiatives, connecting to enterprise strategies.
  • Communications consulting: Build understanding of identified teams and initiatives to effectively create strategic communications plans, then execute tactics to help business partners and achieve their goals.
  • Project oversight: Create and execute major deadline-driven communications initiatives, on budget and on time, using appropriate combinations of vendors, contractors, agencies and in - house services.
  • Messaging: Oversee messaging, story development, and any other produced materials for accuracy, clarity and consistency.
  • Relationship builder: Establish and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with Corporate Communications team, key business partners and Staff.
  • Audience: Understand Staff communication needs to tailor communications in the appropriate manner.
  • Continuous improvement: Constant desire to learn how to improve work and translate communication trends into the into the fast-paced, rapidly growing Chick-fil-A business.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Track record as a communicator who thrives on managing a variety of initiatives concurrently and on deadline.
  • Self-starter able to work independently or in a group, adapt to shifting priorities, and who enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Experience with internal employee communications within a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience with communications content management analytics
  • Experience developing employee communications around AI, including AI policies and data privacy guidelines
  • Experience managing external agency resources
  • Experience in quick service restaurant, food and beverage or hospitality industries
  • Understanding of franchised organizations
  • Communications agency experience
