Job Description

LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network, built to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. Our products help people make powerful connections, discover exciting opportunities, build necessary skills, and gain valuable insights every day. We're also committed to providing transformational opportunities for our own employees by investing in their growth. We aspire to create a culture that's built on trust, care, inclusion, and fun – where everyone can succeed.

Join us to transform the way the world works.

This role will be based in New York City, Chicago, or San Francisco.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

We are looking for a Lead Account Executive to join our Marketing Solutions Large Customer Technology team to continue expanding LinkedIn's position as the premier platform for B2B marketers to reach the world's professionals.

As a Lead Account Executive, you will operate as the strategic business leader for a portfolio of 8 enterprise technology customers, partnering with senior marketing executives to drive long-term business growth. Working closely with a Client Solutions Manager and cross-functional partners, you will develop integrated customer strategies, identify new buying groups, and unlock incremental investment through executive relationships, data-driven insights, and consultative selling. The ideal candidate operates as a trusted advisor to Sr Director/VP/SVP/C-suite stakeholders, builds comprehensive account strategies rooted in customer business priorities, demonstrates exceptional business ownership across a complex portfolio, and consistently translates customer challenges into measurable business outcomes. Beyond delivering results, this individual raises the bar for the broader organization by creating scalable frameworks, influencing cross-functional teams, and contributing to a high-performance, collaborative culture. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, customer-obsessed, commercially minded, and energized by solving complex business problems alongside customers and teammates.

This role is best suited for someone who wants to build enduring executive partnerships, influence customer strategy, and operate with the ownership and commercial mindset of a business owner; not simply someone who manages a portfolio of accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the business partner to senior marketing and business leaders (VP, SVP, CMO, and agency executives), shaping long-term growth strategies that connect LinkedIn solutions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Develop and deepen executive relationships across existing and net-new buying groups to expand influence, unlock investment, and increase share of wallet.
  • Build comprehensive account strategies rooted in customer business priorities, competitive intelligence, buying committee mapping, measurement strategy, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Lead complex, consultative sales engagements by identifying customer challenges, developing strategic recommendations, and influencing stakeholders through executive-level storytelling.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams across Measurement, Insights, Marketing, Content Solutions, Brand Sponsorships, Agency, Pricing, and Customer Success to deliver integrated customer strategies and unlock incremental revenue.
  • Leverage industry trends, competitive intelligence, customer research, and market insights to proactively identify opportunities, anticipate customer needs, and shape strategic recommendations.
  • Drive measurement-led conversations that reinforce ROI, strengthen customer confidence, and accelerate expansion through data-informed decision making.
  • Own the full sales lifecycle across a large and complex portfolio, including opportunity creation, pipeline development, forecasting, renewal strategy, expansion planning, and deal execution.
  • Demonstrate exceptional forecasting discipline through rigorous pipeline management, proactive gap planning, and consistent business inspection to ensure predictable revenue delivery.
  • Consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals while balancing short-term execution with long-term account growth.
  • Create scalable account strategies, customer narratives, and best practices that elevate the broader team and contribute to organizational excellence.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, accountability, diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Travel approximately 40% for in person customer meetings, executive engagements, team offsites, and LinkedIn events.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, media and/or business development
  • 3+ years of media sales or digital media account management experience
  • Experience owning complex sales cycles from opportunity identification through renewal and expansion.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success selling complex B2B marketing, advertising, SaaS, or technology solutions to enterprise organizations.
  • Proven ability to build trusted advisor relationships with senior marketing and business executives, including VP, SVP, and C-suite stakeholders.
  • Track record of growing large, complex enterprise accounts through strategic account planning, executive engagement, and expansion into new buying groups.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead business conversations, challenge customer thinking, and influence decisions through consultative selling.
  • Experience developing and executing comprehensive account plans that integrate customer objectives, buying committee strategies, measurement frameworks, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrated excellence in pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, gap planning, and operating with a high degree of business ownership.
  • Ability to synthesize customer insights, market trends, competitive intelligence, and performance data into compelling executive narratives and strategic recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of modern marketing strategy, advertising technology, measurement, attribution, and marketing automation ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead highly matrixed, cross-functional teams to deliver complex customer solutions and execute against shared business objectives.
  • History of consistently exceeding revenue goals while balancing short-term execution with long-term customer growth.
  • Experience identifying whitespace opportunities and establishing relationships with new buying centers across large enterprise organizations.
  • Demonstrated leadership beyond individual performance by influencing peers, creating scalable best practices, mentoring others, and raising the performance bar across the organization.
  • Experience supporting enterprise technology customers and a strong understanding of the technology industry, including SaaS, infrastructure, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, or developer ecosystems.

Suggested Skills:

  • Business Development & Proactive Revenue Opportunity Identification
  • Strategic Account Planning
  • Consultative, Data Driven Solution Selling
  • Executive Relationship Management, Communication & Storytelling
  • Forecasting & Pipeline Management
