Leach Operator

Silver Bell Mine – Marana, Arizona, United States

To support the Silver Bell Mine operations in the efficient and safe management of leach field activities. The Leach Operator will be responsible for the daily operation, control, and monitoring of leach pads, ensuring optimal solution distribution and compliance with company safety and environmental standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operate and monitor Leach Fields and solution distribution systems.
• Perform material hauling and placement in designated work zones.
• Inspect pipelines, valves, and pumps to maintain system performance.
• Collect samples and assist in reporting leach solution conditions as needed.
• Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production goals are met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Must demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to work outdoors under varying conditions.
• Ability to work safely and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have basic understanding of chemical reagents used in leaching operations.
• Able to work day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.
• Ability to perform physical labor, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a team environment.
• Good communication and positive attitude are essential.
• Must adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols.

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY

• Must complete required training in Environmental Awareness.
• Must comply with all OSHA/MSHA safety standards and ASARCO safety procedures.
• Must wear appropriate PPE at all times in the work area.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Previous experience in field operations, mining, or similar physically demanding work preferred.
• Experience with leaching or solution management systems is an asset.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
