The Birth Registrar at Franciscan Health conducts phone and bedside interviews with parents of newborns in a professional manner, to obtain accurate demographic information. The position files birth certificates with the state Bureau of Vital Statistics within five days of birth via the TER web-based software.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Interview patients and families to obtain registration information; enter correct data, including patient name, gender, and date of birth, ensuring to avoid duplication of an existing medical record at the time of registration and pre-registration.
  • Maintain a privacy file with documentation, in compliance with the state and Steward policies.
  • Provide information to parents about birth recording process and application for social security number and welfare benefits.
  • Assists with completion of paternity affidavits.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years healthcare administrative support Preferred
  • Notary License - State Licensing Board
