Travel Percentage: Negligible

LC/MS Production Manager at the St. Louis Laboratory will manage the team in the preparation of specimens for routine drug testing following the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures. The LCMS Production Manager will also interface with our instruments (LC/MS/MS and GC/MS) and must work safely with instruments/equipment, chemicals, and biological samples while managing the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that lab is in compliance with all CAP/CLIA regulations.
- Ensure all laboratory proficiency tests are confirmed within the proper time frame.
- Interviewing/Hiring Candidates
- Training new hires
- Ensure all LCMS Production Floor and Instrument Training SOPs are followed
- Oversee management of daily operations/ production
- Ensure all individual employee and Confirmation Department inspection requirements are met
- Prepare and verify completion of employee proficiency and training checklists, including HR Continued Education for current team members
- Perform employee coaching and correction
- Perform monthly inventories for all drugs and LC/MS supplies
- Maintain and verify completion of monthly LC/MS Lab Logs
- Monitor expiration dates for calibrators, quality controls, and other reagents
- Communicate with Vendor Sales Reps for supplies
- Assist with method and instrument validations (if QC dept needs)
- Locate specific patient samples and perform confirmation assays according to the toxicology testing method requested.
- Communicate and interact with other departments to solve issues impeding confirmation tests on patient samples
- Interface with analytical instruments including LC/MS/MS and GC/MS
- Review data generated by LC/MS/MS and GC/MS instrumentation before sending it to data certifiers.
- Execute training procedures with new staff on sample preparation, LC/MS/MS and GC/MS operation, and data review.
- Adhere to all security procedures for ensuring the confidentiality of donor information
- Adhere to all established guidelines outlined in Averhealth Employee Guidebook
- Generation of progress reports and pending samples
- Any other tasks assigned by the Laboratory Director or Site Director

QualificationsREQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent relevant field is REQUIRED
- 2+ years’ experience operating and reviewing data for an LC/MS/MS instrument. Sciex and Shimadzu experience preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in a biological laboratory environment.
- 2+ years’ experience managing a laboratory team
- Experience with BOTH LC/MS/MS and GC/MS is an added advantage.
- Excel at analytical chemist duties and responsibilities with a high degree of attention to detail

Mobility, walking, climbing, sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, fine hand-eye coordination, ability to read, write, listen and speak clearly, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to drive a vehicle and travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to use computer, monitor, cell phone, mouse and keyboard extensively as well as other general office equipment.
