Job Description

Objectives of Incumbent:

The purpose of this position is to manage and supervise the operating activities in the LCC to achieve planned yields in accordance with the LCC production schedule. To ensure the safety and day to day running of the Seven Hills Site and ensure all departments on site are compliant to Vertiv documented procedures.

Key responsibilities:

Operational Execution

  • Ensure the site is maintained to the highest EHS standards.
  • Manage the site EHS Risk Register for all activities across the site.
  • Maintain and ensure all ISO certifications are compliant.
  • Manage the emergency management for the site.
  • Ensure all risks are controlled adequately including electrical practices, people/plant separation, safe operation of all vehicles, chemical and dangerous good management, warehouse racking is safe, housekeeping is in place.
  • Co-ordinate activities with LCC technicians to achieve planned LCC production performance.
  • Monitor variables affecting LCC production levels and initiate corrective action.
  • Ensure product is of an acceptable quality and in accordance with specifications.
  • Confer with the Director of Operations, Customer Management ANZ to establish shift arrangements and working schedules.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards and good house-keeping practices across the facility. Take all necessary steps to ensure OH&S requirements are adhered to.
  • Observe approved schedules and ensure efficient performance by direct supervision of LCC staff.
  • Notify the Associate Director, Director Of Operations, Customer Management ANZ immediately of any incident on site e.g.: loss of load, injury, downtime etc.
  • Authorise overtime in accordance with LCC production needs and on approval from the Director of Operations, Customer Management ANZ
  • Take all steps necessary to ensure complete security and maintenance of the Company’s equipment, tools, documentation and materials.

People Management

  • Recommend training, either technical or customer service, of all staff.
  • Manage the staff in the most efficient manner ensuring all legal obligations and humane considerations is met in the process. Appraise staff on an ongoing basis and regularly review performance with subordinates.
  • Recommend to management the discipline or training of field personnel.
  • Ensure that employees are fully trained to meet their objectives and utilise the equipment and resources that are available to them.
  • Provide the employees with safe work practices and ensure that their welfare is secured.

WHS, Environment & Quality:

  • Lead regular toolbox talks for all site stakeholders.
  • Ensure site induction, training and competency requirements are up to date for all workers including contractors.
  • Ensure the Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality management system is executed.
  • Actively promote and lead a positive culture and sustainable EHS practices in the workplace
  • Make sure all incidents and Good Catch reports are reported and investigated.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Participate in internal and external EHS audits.

Education/Qualification:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
