Essential Function 1

  1. Supervises all assigned Case Managers and performs a variety of specialized tasks in relation to cadets and their mentors.
  2. Performs career counseling and mentee training for cadets during the resident phase.
  3. Assists cadets in the Post-Residential phase through the use of the Life Plan (Post-Residential Action Plan).
  4. Maintains a resident and post-resident caseload to accurately manage cadet case files.
  5. Provides extensive automated file management utilizing the Cadet Tracking System.

Minimum Qualifications 1

  1. Requires a bachelor’s degree in social services or educational field, 3 years Lincoln's Challenge Academy or relatable experience or 6 years military experience.
  2. Requires knowledge of career planning and resources for advising cadets with post-secondary vocational and educational planning.

Preferred Qualifications 1

  • Prefers the ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with at-risk youth, their guardians, and mentors using a high degree of tact, patience, empathy, and insight.
  • Prefers knowledge of giving guidance to individuals, groups, families, and agencies.

Employment Condition 1

  • Requires the ability to pass a DoD background investigation.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license in the appropriate classification as required by law.
  • Required to work a flex work schedule including weekends and evenings when necessary to meet agency needs.
  • Required to adhere to organizational grooming standards and present a professional appearance while wearing organizational issued, activity appropriate attire while on shift.
  • This position is considered medium work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(c)). Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
