Job Description

The expected hiring range for this position is:

$111,400.00-$146,600.00.

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

What your day-to-day as an Estimator will look like:

  • Develops internal material and labor cost estimates and compares them to contractor proposals, preparing reports that summarize variances, risks, and recommendations.
  • Conducts detailed cost analysis and prepares estimates for highly complex proposal efforts.
  • Collects, validates, and synthesizes cost and proposal data from internal stakeholders.
  • Prepares final cost reports for domestic and international proposals and presents summarized cost information to management.
  • Interfaces with vendors to obtain and verify pricing information and supports price audits by providing required documentation.
  • Supports procurement and project teams with cost modeling, benchmarking, and financial insights.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Strong knowledge of material and labor cost estimation methodologies.
  • Proven ability to develop cost analyses for highly complex proposals.
  • Proven ability to develop internal cost estimates using scope documentation, historical data, and pricing inputs.
  • Experience supporting vendor pricing validation and audit activities.
  • Familiarity with construction, engineering, or large-scale infrastructure project environments preferred.

Minimum Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Work Arrangement:
  • This position is based in Batavia, Illinois, with potential travel to project sites, including Lead, South Dakota (SURF – Sanford Underground Research Facility) as needed.
