Job Description

At Alstom, we build what millions depend on daily - rail transportation systems that can't afford to fail. We're more than 85,000 people worldwide creating the industry's most diverse portfolio: high-speed trains, metros, trams, maintenance services and integrated systems.

More Than a Job: A Mission

We are seeking a passionate Deputy Manager to support the LAX Automated People Mover (APM) Operations and Maintenance Joint Venture (OMJV). You will collaborate with dedicated teams to ensure operational excellence, safety, and reliability in one of the most complex mobility systems in the world. This role demands ownership, precision, and a drive to deliver sustainable transportation solutions that connect communities.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities ensuring scalability and compliance with Alstom’s global standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operational goals with project milestones and client expectations.
  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to enhance system uptime and performance.
  • Drive innovation through digital maintenance tools and predictive analytics to optimize asset lifecycle management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across technical and operational teams.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility, ensuring seamless integration of business and technology.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or related work experience in any of those areas
  • Demonstrated experience with automated transit systems, maintenance, operations, or a comparable safety-critical transportation environment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in transportation or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with Maintenance Management Information Systems (MMIS) such as Maximo
  • A project management certification or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary management, supervisory, technical, and frontline teams
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

How Success Is Measured

  • Achievement of operational KPIs and adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Effective collaboration and leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reduction in system downtime and continuous improvement in maintenance efficiency.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

  • Work with cutting-edge rail technologies driving the future of sustainable mobility.
  • Contribute to a global project with tangible local impact in Houston.
  • Access continuous learning and career development opportunities within a global network

Compensation: $120,000 - 140,000

Here, progress isn't always easy but the impact is real. Because the scale is massive, the tasks are complex when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.
