In this role, you'll:

Be working in the Legal & Governance Branch, where you will where you will work as part of a collaborative legal team delivering expert regulatory, administrative, government and criminal law services, supporting compliance, enforcement and decision making across the Transport portfolio.

This role will see you provide quality legal advice, draft regulatory and court documentation, prepare briefs of evidence, and conduct prosecutions and appeals across the Local Court, District Court and NCAT representing the NSW Point to Point Transport Commissioner.

You’ll build deep subject matter expertise in transport regulation while further developing your advocacy, statutory interpretation and litigation skills within a large, complex government environment.

Your role will be fast paced, challenging and varied

You will represent, influence and advocate for Transport portfolio agencies to achieve fair, consistent and legally sound outcomes in a fast paced, high volume regulatory and criminal law setting with significant public interest and community impact.

You will also advise staff relating to their duties and functions as TfNSW officers and supporting the Legal Director in legal matters.

About you

You are an enthusiastic Lawyer who has tertiary qualifications in law, the eligibility to hold a practising certificate in NSW with demonstrated advocacy experience.

You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can convey technical legal concepts clearly and succinctly.

You are keen to gain further experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of matters.

You will model the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct.
