Job Description

Introduction

The Public Affairs, Countries and Communities (PACC) department supports ASML by engaging with governments and strengthening relationships that help enable ASML’s long‑term strategy. As an intern, you contribute to shaping country strategies and supporting engagement with government entities in emerging markets. You help connect internal teams, improve collaboration, and strengthen our organizational structure. This internship gives you a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of public policy, technology, and global strategy.

Your assignment

In this internship you help develop country strategies and support the coordination between internal and external stakeholders. You also contribute to global projects that improve alignment between our international teams. In addition, you work closely with the Head of Partnerships and Countries, supporting organizational set‑up and enabling smoother collaboration across sub‑teams.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support the development of country strategies for emerging markets.

  • Coordinate communication between internal teams and global representatives.

  • Contribute to project management activities that improve public understanding of ASML operations.

  • Engage with government affairs colleagues globally to support strategic alignment.

  • Help structure and standardize internal processes across the department.

  • Support chief‑of‑staff activities for the Head of Partnerships and Countries.

  • Prepare clear documentation to support organizational decision‑making.

This is a master’s internship for minimum 6 months, minimum 4/5 days per week ( 2/3 days on‑site). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.

Your profile

To be suitable for the internship, you:

  • Are pursuing a master’s degree in public administration, law, engineering, or a related field.

  • Are interested in global strategy, public policy, and government engagement.

  • Have s trong stakeholder management and the ability to influence and network.

  • Ability to translate complex issues into clear public affairs goals and activity plans.

  • Structured way of working and the ability to adapt in fast changing environments.

  • Show sound business judgment and analytical skills.

  • Ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.

  • Aware of cross-cultural differences with a well-calibrated political antenna • Identifies bottlenecks and drives improvements.

  • Work independently or as part of a team and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrate open, clear, concise, and professional communication.

  • Enjoys working in an open, transparent, informal, dynamic, and hard-working environment.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;

  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
