Introduction

The Legal Corporate & ESG-team is based in Veldhoven and works with a network of ASML in-house counsels globally. The team is part of the ASML Legal & Compliance department, which includes over 100 professionals. The teamprovidesexpert legal advice related to a broad array of corporate matters within ASML, such as mergers and acquisitions, investments, restructurings, financing, legal entity management, disclosures, insider tradingcomplianceand intercompany flows.We advise ASML’s ESG and Sustainability functions, providing guidanceon sustainability-related matters, concentrating on the environmental and social pillars of ESG. As legal experts, we interpret upcoming laws and regulations and support the organization in understanding its ESG reporting and due diligence obligations.  

Your Assignment

We have two internships within our team. We aim to give each intern a focus area (corporate or ESG)but both interns will have the opportunity to be involvedina wide range of business activities of the entire team. Your tasks will be varied and tailored to your background and preferences, ensuring a challenging and enriching experience. You will activelyparticipatein our team's daily operations and contribute to Legal Corporate & ESG’s projects, large and small.   

Internship Assignment 1 has aCorporatefocus.

Key elements include:

  • Build hands-on experience with corporate law in the Netherlands and the EMEA region;

  • Apply corporate law in practice through annual compliance processes, document management, shareholder administration, UBO registration, and more;

  • Develop your drafting skills by preparing and executing event-driven corporate changes, such as board changes and changesregardingsigning authority;

  • Take ownership of well-defined corporate matters by preparing legal advice with the support of the team;

  • Get exposure to transactions in Finance and M&A/Venturing, depending on relevance, availability, sensitivity, and complexity.

  • Support corporate projects with a structured, technology-enabled approach (e.g., tracking actions and deliverables,maintainingtemplates/know-how, and using Legal AI tools and technologies

Internship Assignment 2 has an ESG focus.

Key elements include:

  • Dive into the rapidly evolving ESG regulatory landscape by monitoring, analysing, and interpreting upcoming legislation; use ESG complianceand Legal AItools tomonitorand structure regulatorydevelopments; and translate regulatory and tool outputs into clear, actionable legal guidance and practical advice;

  • Play a key role in helping business counterparts understand how changes in laws and regulations affect their activities;

  • Support project management and stakeholder coordination on ESG topics within Legal & Compliance (e.g., preparing stakeholder updates, tracking action lists, and helping organize working sessions).

  • Sharpen your legal advisory skills by preparing advice on relevant ESG matters, such as CSRD, CSDDD, EU Packaging, and Packaging Waste Regulation;

  • Contribute to ASML's broader social impact by drafting commercial agreements to support initiatives under the ASML community partnership program.

Both are a master's-level internships lasting minimum 6 months, working 4-5 days per week (3-4 days onsitein Veldhoven). These internships are not suitable for thesis writing. The start date is aroundAugustSeptember2026.

Your Profile

To be a fit for these internships, you:

  • Are a master’sstudent in Business Law, Corporate Law, Financial Law, European Law, or Law & Technology; 

  • Possess effective communication skills and the ability to connect with relevant stakeholders;

  • Are able towork in a structured manner and have attention to detail;

  • Have a genuine interest tocomprehendthe matters you are working on and how the team’s activities fit in ASML’s overall strategy;

  • Have a hands-on mentality, are proactive, and are driven by curiosity;

  • Arewilling to learn and apply legal technology andAI tools responsiblyPrior experience is a plus, but notrequired;

  • Have a project-oriented mindset: you can plan and prioritize work, keep track of actions and deadlines, and support coordination across stakeholders;

  • Can structure and summarize complex information into clear outputs (e.g., one-pagers, trackers, stakeholder updates);

  • Are fluent in English,proficiencyin Dutch is an advantage for the Corporate focus internship;

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

  • Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;

  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter needs to include the willingness to relocate.

  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
