Job Description

As a Laundry Valet Attendant, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional guest service by offering laundry pickup and delivery services. Your responsibilities will include collecting soiled linens and guest laundry from guest rooms or designated areas, ensuring they are properly cleaned, and delivering fresh, folded items back to the guests in a timely and courteous manner. Your attention to detail and commitment to delivering a seamless laundry service will contribute to a positive guest experience and the overall success of our hotel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Greet guests warmly and professionally while maintaining a friendly demeanor throughout laundry pickups and deliveries.
  2. Collect soiled linens, towels, and guest laundry from guest rooms or designated areas using a designated laundry cart or trolley.
  3. Accurately record and update laundry pick-up and delivery schedules, ensuring timely service and meeting guests' expectations.
  4. Sort laundry items based on color, fabric type, and laundry procedures before loading them into laundry carts for transportation.
  5. Follow established laundry procedures to ensure proper washing, drying, folding, and pressing of all items.
  6. Inspect finished laundry items to ensure they meet quality standards, are properly folded, and free of wrinkles or stains.
  7. Organize and stock clean linen and guest laundry in designated storage areas, ensuring par levels are maintained.
  8. Handle guests' personal laundry requests with care and confidentiality, ensuring accurate delivery and adherence to specific instructions.
  9. Report any damaged or stained items to the Laundry Supervisor for appropriate action.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the laundry valet area, ensuring laundry carts and trolleys are kept clean and organized.
  11. Adhere to health and safety regulations related to laundry operations and the handling of chemicals.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping-related role, preferably in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment, is an advantage but not always required.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with guests.
  3. Ability to handle laundry equipment and machinery effectively.
  4. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  5. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy laundry items for extended periods.
  6. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  7. Strong work ethic and a positive attitude towards teamwork and guest service.
  8. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to laundry operations is an advantage.
