Job Description Summary:

Responsible for weighing, sorting, and counting soiled linens, operating flatwork ironers, dryers, and folders and other laundry equipment on an assigned shift, five (5) days a week. Under the direct supervision of the Floor Manager. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Responsibilities

Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the unit.

Weighs, sorts, and counts soiled linens from affiliates and records on proper report.

Weighs and loads soiled linens into chutes for washers.

Wrap linen and load carts according to pick ticket for delivery to affiliates.

Folds linens that are processed through the flatwork ironer.

Loads and unloads tumblers.

Folds linen in the dry fold area.

Sends linens through flatwork ironers and small piece folders.

Loads and unloads carts.

Transports linen carts to areas within the hospital.

Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: The ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: N/A

EXPERIENCE: General knowledge of commercial laundry equipment normally acquired through four weeks of on the job training.
