We are accepting applications for the following position:

LAUNDRY PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

In support of day-to-day operations, the Laundry Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible to receive linens, ensure items are cleaned to a high standard, packed and delivered to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sort soiled linens including sheets, towels, blankets, banquet linens, and articles of clothing into different categories ready to be washed.
  • Carry out inspections and identify if items need repairs or replacements.
  • Operate industrial laundry equipment, loading machines; report any equipment faults or hazards.
  • Ensure that production and service quality standards are met.
  • Provide light service to machines by lubricating equipment and cleaning or changing machine filters when needed; alert the Supervisor when machines are in need of professional repair.
  • Monitor stock levels and inform Supervisor of items needing to be ordered to ensure all laundry production requirements can be met at all times.
  • Receive linens, checks, verifies, and loads products.
  • Establish and maintain outstanding relations with customers.
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries to customers and complete quality checks.
  • Record, sort and stack linen ready for dispatching.
  • Assisting with the storage and packing of finished goods.
  • Ensure orders are delivered in a timely, safe manner.
  • Responsible to adhering to vehicle operating procedures.
  • Ensure the changeover procedures are followed at the end of the shift and any relevant information is passed on clearly.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment; report any accident, incident or safety issues to Supervisor.
  • Assist with loading and unloading in the transport of linens to and from the delivery area.
  • Preform other duties as required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an industrial laundry production facility or hotel environment.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of laundry systems, machinery and production processes.
  • Must have a clean driving record with a group 3 Cayman Island Driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with individuals and groups, both orally and in writing.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to multitask and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skill with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility; able to work nights, weekends and public holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • May be exposed to a noisy, humid and hot environment surrounded. Temperatures will vary depending on how many machines are in operation at any given time.
  • Environment contains commercial grade washers and dryers and other various laundry service equipment.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking and lifting required.
  • May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary

Pay Rate:US$12.00-US$14.00 per hour plus incentive pay

Based on group and individual numbers. In 2025, our hourly employees were averaging over US$3.00 per hour of additional pay.
