Summary:
The Laundry Engineer Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and basic diagnosis of all equipment in the Laundry Facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•    The primary objective is to keep and maintain all equipment in the facility in good, clean operating order.
•    Maintain building and support functions for the laundry facility as required by the Chief Engineer.

QualificationsEducation and

Experience:
•    High School Diploma/ 5 years experience maintaining various laundry equipment or equivalent.
Competencies:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Technical Abilities:
Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical fields. Ability to read an electrical schematic. Must possess basic electrical troubleshooting skills, and a basic knowledge of three-phase power.  Ability to perform mechanical tasks such as changing pumps or motors.  Ability to work, and think, on their own with little or no supervision. Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Oral Communication – Ability to convey thoughts and instructions clearly and definitively so all personnel involved understand the message. Be able to do this respectfully. Must be able to inform others if instructions given are not understood.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.  Must climb ladders and work in a mechanical lift ascending to 30 feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Able to stand and walk for extended periods.  Able to lift and carry over 50 pounds.

Work Environment:
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise levels are usually moderate but can elevate to high around certain types of equipment. Hearing protection is required at those times.
