Job Description

I. BASIC PURPOSE / JOB BRIEF:

Responsible for cleaning of soiled uniforms by washing or dry cleaning; ensures maximum quality of all uniforms processed to enhance Team Members presentation at the Hotel.

II. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Prepares all soiled linen by segregating them according to process type to ensure all items are processed in the most efficient manner and to the maximum quality standards
  • Operates washing and drying machines to clean and dry all soiled linen sent from the Hotel to ensure they are fit for pressing and return
  • Operates dry cleaning equipment to clean soiled linen with delicate fabrics that are not washable in water to ensure they are fit for pressing and return
  • Checks all chemicals and utilities are available prior to start of process to ensure that good quality cleaning is effected in each cycle
  • Cleans all washing, drying, spotting and dry cleaning machines as per set schedules to ensure that equipment is well maintained and avoid cross contamination
  • Logs all cycles in the Bundle system, and maintain a log of machine defects to enable monitoring and review of machine performance at any time

III. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Educational Requirement:
  • High School graduate
  • Experience Requirements:
  • At least 2 years experience as Dry Clean/Wash house Operator
  • At least 2 years experience as Laundry Attendan
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledgeable in operating Laundry equipment
  • Ability to identify types of fabric
  • Other Qualifications:
  • Good command of oral English
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in high demand, team oriented and fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
