Provides laundry services to lodging operations with the NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sorts, washes, dries, folds, bundles, wraps, and issues linen in accordance with established instructions and/or as directed by the Lead/Supervisor.
- Operates commercial washers, dryers, and ironing press; paying special attention to detail while working with the laundry to prevent staining, over- bleaching, or over-starching.
- May be required to load, unload, attach/detach laundry chemicals as needed by hand or using carts, dollies, hand trucks, golf carts or similar lifting carrying devices.
- Reads and follows written directions from manufacturer and/or supervisor on the proper use of all equipment and chemicals. Cleans filters, equipment, and notifies supervisor of any malfunctions.
- Inventories laundry to detect missing and/or damaged items. Maintains inventory, records damages, and issues requests for replacement items to sustain par standards set by management.
- May be required to pick up and deliver laundry to multiple facilities.
- Sweeps, mops, dust, and empties trash in order to maintain cleanliness of laundry facility and linen storage areas
- Maintains documentation of work performed on a daily and monthly basis.
- May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license to travel to other lodging facilities as required within the normal scope of duties.
- Must perform duties of housekeeping attendants and/or public spaces attendants on an “as needed” basis to cover for staff shortages or other unanticipated occurrences.
- Ensures security and privacy of all guests are maintained at all times.

No experience required. High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately, strenuous, physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving, and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is primarily performed indoors in areas that normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation; however it is not unlikely that conditions may be very hot due to heat from the dryers and presses. Some facilities will require exposure to outdoors. The incumbent may be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors, and skin/eye irritants from strong cleaning solutions. Personal Protective Equipment PPE is provided and must be worn.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may be designated ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in the interest of national security and may be required to report for work when other employees are excused.
