POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining laundry and dry-cleaning equipment to ensure linens, uniforms, and garments are cleaned, dried, folded, and prepared to required quality standards. The Laundry Attendant also supports efficient laundry operations while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and accurate records.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate washing, drying, and dry-cleaning machines.
• Add appropriate chemicals and monitor machine performance.
• Inspect items for stains, damage, and cleanliness; arrange rewash, repair, or disposal as needed.
• Set dryers according to fabric type and load requirements.
• Clean lint traps, filters, screens, and other equipment components.
• Fold, sort, and organize cleaned articles and linens.
• Maintain accurate laundry processing records.
• Follow safety, security, and company policies and procedures.
• Report equipment issues, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain quality standards and support workplace efficiency and productivity.
• Work collaboratively with team members to achieve operational goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in laundry, housekeeping, dry-cleaning, or a related role preferred.
• Completion of Secondary education (Grade 10/12) is required
• Relevant Vocational certification is an advantage
• Knowledge of laundry equipment, fabric care, and cleaning processes.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and follow procedures.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically able to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity targets.
• Commitment to workplace safety, professionalism, and reliability.
