As a Laundry Attendant, this position plays an integral role in exceeding guest expectations and creating guest loyalty. This position ensures that all linens are processed in a timely manner meeting the standards of Omni Hotels & Resorts
Local 26 Contract stipulates starting rate per hour at $23.07 and after 6 Months of service, rate increases to $24.72 per hour. After one year of service, hourly rate per hour increases to $32.96.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sorting of dirty linen from laundry chute to be processed.
• Pickup of dirty linen from Food & Beverage Outlets/Banquets.
• Operating all washers, dryers, ironers and other laundry equipment.
• Operating smaller washers/dryers to process specialty items or special requests for guests.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department at all times.
• Adhere by safety and sanitization regulations as instructed by OSHA and the Omni Hotels & Resorts.
• Take part in monthly linen inventories.
• Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among co-workers. Treats co-workers fairly and equitably.
• Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni Boston Seaport standards.
• Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.
• Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
• Perform any other duties required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be able to stand in work station for up to 8 hours per shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts up to 250 pounds often throughout the shift.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch on a regular basis.
• Must be able to travel to various areas of the hotel to pick/deliver linen items in allotted time provided.
• Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities.
• Must possess the ability to handle stressful and busy hotel operations. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
• Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
• Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
• Must meet standards of appearance and maintain a high level of personal hygiene at all time.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
• Computer literacy to include: Payroll systems
