Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include but be unlimited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.

• Ensure that standards of excellence in customer service are maintained and regularly updated. (Linen provided is clean and to the hotels’ standard).
• Ensure that guest’s expectations are anticipated, met at all times and even regularly exceeded.
• Deal with all guests’ queries and complaints swiftly and efficiently.
• Sorts all soiled (colored or white) linen, weighs and loads into appropriate carts.
• Loads and unloads washers and dryers, operates machines and records poundage amounts, and amounts washed and dried.
• Folds towels either by hand or towel folder, irons table linens, irons and folds sheets, hand folds pillow cases, blankets, bed pads, draw sheets, herbal wraps etc…
• Sorts and separates damaged or stained linen, i.e., to be repaired or used as rags.
• Delivers linen and uniform to staffs.
• Storing linen and uniforms appropriately.
• Cleans lint traps from dryers daily; checks and cleans drains as necessary.
• Maintains clean laundry area, sweeps and mops floor, cleans washers and dryers, empties trash, organizes carts, cleans back sorting area and sweeps porch on loading dock.
• Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.
• Do inventory of linen and Uniform.
• Maintain adequate stock levels within Housekeeping stores and issuing as needed.
• Maintain appropriate records (linen stocks, repairs, etc...) in accordance with occupancy and legal requirements.
• Perform any other duties as required by Management.

Qualifications

Qualification:

• Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field is a plus

Experience:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
• Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts is a plus.
• Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.

Additional Information

Technical skills:

• Helpful attitude to provide aid to housekeeping, if required.
• Customer service skills to offer an excellent client experience.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Ability to follow directions from managers, as well as follow the washing instructions detailed on individual garments.
• Good vision and the ability to notice small stains and imperfections.
• Knowledge of stain treatment in order to utilize the best strategies to remove the stain on each individual article.
• Fluency English or another language, written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
