The Laundry Attendant assists the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments in daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including but not limited to maintaining the loading, washing, drying and folding of all resort linens. Maintain the stocked items and inventory control and making sure that the linen is ready for the housemen to pick up and take to the room attendants.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Sort all dirty linens and treat stains.
2. Process wet, clean items and dry as directed.
3. Safely maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to manager
4. Safely maintain all laundry equipment and inform manager as to any maintenance needs.
5. Assist with stripping of used linen from the guest rooms, as needed.
6. Dispose of linen and terry properly.
7. Operate washers and dryers properly and safely as well as ensuring that the correct chemicals (and amounts) are being used.
8. Fold linens to resort standards and keep stock organized in designated places.
9. Wash bed wraps, duvets, mattress pads, and blankets in accordance with resort standards.
10. Assist with cleaning and up-keeping of storage areas.
11. All other duties assigned.

Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. High School diploma or equivalent, preferred but not required.
3. Must have reliable transportation to and from work; arrive on time and ready for work.
4. At least one year of experience in a housekeeping or laundry role strongly preferred.
5. Must be a fast-paced worker and work well with others.
6. Must be extremely observant and detailed, with good communication skills.
7. Able to follow instructions and ask questions to learn and perform duties. Able to follow both written and verbal directions.
8. Knowledgeable of safe compliance in using laundry chemicals.
9. Capable of performing duties safely and within deadlines.
10. Demeanor to remain calm in tense or stressful situations.
11. Initiative to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
12. Flexible to work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
13. Heavy physical requirements: able to lift at least 50 lbs; push 100 lbs; stand for long periods of time; walk throughout the facilities and resort; bend, stretch, kneel, raise arms over head, squat, etc. Good manual dexterity.
14. Ability to work in moderately noisy work environment for long periods of time and communicate effectively in this environment.
