Salary Range: $15.00 - $15.00 Hourly

Position Overview
The Laundry Aide is responsible for providing laundry services to ensure a safe, sanitary, comfortable and homelike environment for residents.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Collects, sorts, processes and distributes linens and residents' clothing, operating machines and pushing carts.
- Performs tasks according to established time measures and standards.
- Follows all safety and infection control policies and practices of the facility.
- Participates as a team member to ensure the department goals are met.
- Participates in performance improvement/quality assurance activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of department policies and procedures.
- Participates in personal and professional growth by attending mandatory in-services and scheduled department meetings.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Every incidental duty connected with the Laundry Aide position cannot be specified in the job description.  The Laundry Aide, at the discretion of the Campus Director of Building and Environmental Services, may be required to perform duties that are not included in this job description.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires physical stamina involving walking, stooping, climbing, crouching, crawling and standing for long periods. The incumbent also must be able to lift 75 pounds or greater.

QualificationsEducational/Professional

Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year laundry experience in a long-term care, hospital, or other institutional setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Must enjoy working with the elderly.
- Able to operate large washers and dryers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
