Job Description
SUMMARY
As a Laundry Aide II, you will efficiently and safely operate all laundry machinery, process linen and terry, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility. This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding service to guests, internal departments, and team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate industrial washing machines and dryers in accordance with safety procedures and training
- Load, unload, sort, and fold linen and terry accurately and efficiently
- Monitor the quality of laundered items and promptly report any deviations or issues to the Laundry Supervisor
- Maintain a continual flow of linen and terry as directed, ensuring timely support to guest rooms and other departments
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment and work areas at the end of each shift
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
- Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills to meet firm deadlines
- Work effectively with other team members, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
- Assist in any area of the laundry department as needed and as assigned by management
- Report any misuse of linen or terry immediately
- Practice and support workplace safety, following all resort environmental and safety practices
- Ensure personal accountability for assigned tasks, projects, and performance expectations
- Provide and receive feedback in a positive manner, contributing to high staff morale
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Project a positive and tactful demeanor with guests and colleagues
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 year previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment

TYPICAL PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS
- Frequently required to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects and to talk or hear
- Required to stand for extended periods, walk, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and push or pull linen carts weighing between 240 and 700lbs (assistance provided for heavier carts)
- Must be able to work in warmer conditions (85-100 degrees) consistently during peak months (May-October)
- Ability to comprehend and follow directions, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines
- Moderate stress level with frequent exposure to varied personalities and situations
- Ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Noise levels vary from quiet to loud, and the atmosphere is highly physical and fast-paced
- Work schedules may vary and conclude only when all assignments are completed, as determined by the Laundry Supervisor
- May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must practice and support all resort safety policies and procedures
