Job Description

Position title: Material Planning & Logistics Launch Lead (Launch Lead - MPL)

Working location: FVL Hai Duong Plant

Direct report to: MP&L Manager

II. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

1. Launch Project Management

  • Team Leadership: Direct daily and strategic activities for the MPL launch team, including Product Specialists (PSGs).
  • Schedule Management: Develop and execute the MPL Launch Master Schedule aligned with the overall Program Schedule.
  • Representation & Escalation: Represent MPL in all gateway reviews and cross-functional launch meetings (DCC, AIM, OTG, Launch Director Reviews); proactively escalate critical issues to plant leadership.

2. Material Flow & Lean Plant Layout

  • Flow Strategy: Develop and implement a synchronous, waste-free material flow strategy from suppliers to the production line.
  • Lean Layouts: Collaborate with area leaders to design lean plant layouts meeting Ford Production System (FPS) standards.
  • Sequencing & Delivery: Establish line-feeding, picking, and In-Line Vehicle Sequencing (ILVS)/Broadcast strategies.

3. Packaging, Racks & Dunnage Management

  • Design & Test: Partner with MPL Engineers and suppliers to design, physically test, and formally certify new racks and dunnage.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve rack/dunnage quality and safety issues with plant launch leaders.
  • Sustainability: Drive "greening" initiatives in packaging design with suppliers.

4. Systems, Data Integrity & Inventory Control

  • System Readiness: Ensure timely setup and validation of MPL systems (CMMS3, WERS, NGAVS, QAD, Ariba, GPAM).
  • BOM & Inventory: Validate Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy; manage parts "balance-out" and "system fill" to minimize obsolescence costs.
  • Crib Management: Oversee the new model parts crib to guarantee parts availability for launch builds.

5. Financial Control & Process Compliance

  • Budget & Freight: Manage the launch budget and review/approve Premium Freight costs.
  • Internal Controls: Comply with corporate financial guidelines and data protection (GIS/PII).
  • Continuous Improvement: Support 5S, Six Sigma/Kaizen initiatives, and GAO audits.

III. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)

  • On-Time Launch Milestones: 100% on-time delivery of launch vehicles/parts through all build phases up to OK2B and Job 1.
  • MP&L Scorecard & Plant DOS Scorecard: Achieving or exceeding set targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and Environment (SQDCME).
  • Launch Budget & Premium Freight Control: Managing launch-related logistics expenses and premium freight within the approved budget limit.
  • Inventory & Obsolescence Management: Maintaining optimal inventory levels before and after Launch (up to J1 + 90 days) with zero line-stops due to material shortages and minimized obsolescence costs.

Audit & Compliance: Achieving satisfactory ratings in GAO Internal Audits and 100% compliance with GIS, PII, and corporate control files.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Education: University Degree of Automotive, Automation, Mechanical engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics ….
  • Experience: at least 02 years.

  • Qualifications:

  • Good follow up, coordination and problem-solving skills

  • Good at MS office (Word/Excel/Power point/App..)

  • Fluently in reading, speaking, listening, and writing English.

  • Analyzing, planning, negotiating, decision making skill.

  • Working under high pressure, be careful.

  • Teamwork and drive for results.
