Position Summary

Based in Mexico and reporting to the Associate Manager, Trade Compliance LatAm, the Regional Trade Compliance Analyst plays a key role within Energizer’s Global Trade Compliance organization.

This position supports the execution and continuous improvement of the company's trade compliance program across Latin America. The Analyst is responsible for ensuring that company processes, internal controls, and reporting activities comply with applicable customs and international trade regulations. The role involves analyzing trade data, supporting import and export compliance activities, applying knowledge of regional customs requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed compliance into day-to-day business operations.

The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening Energizer’s Global Trade Compliance Program while helping mitigate risk and drive operational excellence across the region.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

• Support compliance with Latin American import and export laws and regulations in partnership with the regional Trade Compliance team.
• Ensure the compliant movement of goods across borders.
• Provide guidance on country-specific Harmonized System (HS) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, customs rulings, and explanatory notes.
• Stay informed on regulatory developments and support implementation of compliance requirements.

Risk Management

• Conduct post-entry audits and export declaration reviews to ensure adherence to local regulations.
• Identify potential compliance risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.
• Escalate trade compliance issues, exceptions, or control gaps to management as appropriate.
• Support monitoring and assessment of trade compliance controls and procedures.

Customs Broker & Third-Party Management

• Support customs broker management through SOP development, responses to ad hoc inquiries, participation in monthly operational meetings, and quarterly business reviews.
• Monitor performance of customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other service providers through compliance-focused KPIs.
• Collaborate with customs brokers, logistics partners, and government agencies to facilitate seamless and compliant import and export operations.

Training & Awareness

• Share knowledge and best practices to support the continuous enhancement of Energizer’s Global Trade Compliance Program.
• Deliver or participate in compliance awareness sessions for cross-functional teams.
• Communicate trade compliance updates, regulatory changes, and business requirements to internal stakeholders.

Documentation & Record Management

• Maintain accurate trade compliance data within enterprise systems and electronic databases.
• Ensure proper documentation and record retention in accordance with domestic and international regulatory requirements.
• Support audit readiness through effective record management practices.

Process Improvement

• Identify process inefficiencies, compliance risks, and opportunities for automation.
• Develop automated or semi-automated solutions that enhance compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Support the creation, enhancement, and standardization of trade compliance processes, procedures, and tools.

Collaboration

• Partner closely with Logistics, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Procurement, and other business functions to ensure integrated compliance efforts.
• Collaborate with the Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence and regional teams to implement compliance requirements effectively.
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects related to trade compliance.
• Proactively communicate trade compliance requirements that are critical to the successful execution of business operations.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, Logistics, Law, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of Trade Compliance, Customs, International Trade, Logistics, or related experience.
• Foundational knowledge of Latin American customs and trade regulations.
• Strong ability to collaborate, influence, and build trusted relationships across functions and levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Intermediate to Advanced Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Global Trade Management (GTM) systems.
• Familiarity with SAP.
• Professional certification in Trade Compliance, Customs, Foreign Trade, or a related discipline.
• Experience with HS/HTS classification.
• Experience using data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI.
• Exposure to multinational or regional trade compliance environments.
