Latex Operator I Monday - Friday

This position is Monday - Friday 3pm-11pm.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To provide a continuous flow of secondary back into Coater and to monitor latex application on the secondary backing. Maintain latex pump and tank area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Align roll in cradle with yellow lines on the floor, making sure roll is turned in the right direction.

When the previous roll that is running on machine gets low (12-14” diameter), turn on J-box and run the rest of the roll into J-box. Call the Operator to let them know you are doing so. (This is called slack time)

When all of the roll is in the J-box, use the heat knife to trim the backing straight. This cuts the backing loose from the core.

Remove core inserts from both ends of the core and place in core buggy.

Use the ultrasonic seamer to sew the end of the new roll to the end of the old roll.

After seam is created, check to make sure the seam has no holes in it.

Move roll cradle forward and line up core inserts with core on both sides. Make sure to leave a space between core and insert. Push into core and lock down with T-handle locks on both sides. Raise roll.

Align and run enough backing into J-box to get the seam onto the main tenter.

Dispose of any scrap.

Record the length of previous roll from Trumeter on Backing Variance Sheet with roll number.
