Job Description

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lateral Intake and Conflicts Analyst to join the General Counsel’s Office. This can be a remote position. This position supports members of the General Counsel’s Office who focus on pre-onboarding and onboarding of lateral attorneys and groups. This is a dynamic team that requires a proactive professional who can work independently, maintain strict confidentiality, and manage multiple and sometimes shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, proofread, and format documents and email communications with precision and professionalism.
  • Maintain key dates related to lateral candidates.
  • Provide daily administrative support to lateral attorneys during pre-onboarding and onboarding stages.
  • Assist with accurate details related to new client matters and files, including receipt of waivers, engagement letters and file transfer authorizations.
  • Organize and maintain electronic using NetDocuments.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, attorneys, and staff, both internal and external.
  • Conduct research related to onboarding as requested by attorneys or paralegals.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries from clients, attorneys, and internal teams.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all matters.
  • Provide backup support to other team members as needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Provide guidance and organized instructions to LPAs assisting with lateral onboarding.

SKILLS:

  • Works well independently and also within a team structure
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience with conflicts of interest and waivers a plus
  • Experience with onboarding of lateral attorneys and file transfer process preferred
  • Professional and high level of comfort and command when speaking with all levels of WBD personnel
  • Respectful pro-active communications with laterals and lateral’s prior employer
  • Diligent follow-up on pending tasks
  • Understand and manage logistics

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have reliable internet access due to volume of video conferences involved with this position.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree or preferred.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal.
  • Proven ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and proofreading.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel and Word skills preferred.
  • Experience with SharePoint preferred.
  • Experience with inTapp or similar matter opening system (ideal, but not required).
  • Experience Familiarity with electronic databases and document management systems.

COMPENSATION: The estimated salary range for this role for 5-15 years’ experience is $72,000 - $102,000. Starting salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
