Job Description

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Late Night Staff Lead to join our team.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As a Late Night Staff Lead, you will provide leadership and motivation for staff and teens in the Late Nite Program. Ensuring a positive environment for teens to participate in open gym, basketball, swimming, utilizing workout equipment, and various teen programs after hours at the YMCA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and assist staff and participants in skill development, game play and social interaction.
  • Teach sportsmanship and use teachable moments to implement our core values.
  • Plan and/or lead Assemble Time.
  • Assist with overseeing volunteers who assist with Late Night Program.
  • Provide support in briefing staff and volunteers on program plan.
  • Deescalate situations in a professional manner to ensure program safety.
  • Assist with the responsibility for Late Nite staff and participant supervision and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 Years of Age.
  • High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
  • One year or more of related experience (preferred).
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with teens and diverse populations.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications preferred.
  • Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $17.13 to $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location: Tom Taylor Family YMCA, Gig Harbor, WA
