Job Purpose and Impact

The Latam International Freight Sourcing Specialist will perform complex activities that ensure efficient transportation of materials and products for Latin America exports. In this role you will lead negotiations, manage risks and contribute for the strategic alignment between sourcing strategy, transportation execution and the organization objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Negotiate international freight rates, terms and conditions and service level.
  • Apply a meaningful comprehension of transportation and logistics practices and procedures to assist in the negotiation of freight prices and contract terms and to solve operational problems escalated by the execution teams.
  • Update transportation systems and databases for contracts, freight rates and estimates, insurance and customer information.
  • Independently analyze current transportation benchmarks, marketing intelligence data to identify and implement cost improvement opportunities.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders including commercial and supply chain planning and execution teams.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Solid and proven related work experience.
  • Experience in container freight forwarding/international trade.
  • Advanced English.
  • Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of agricultural commodity supply chains
  • Experience in international maritime freight negotiation
  • Advanced Spanish
  • Experience in Power BI tools.
