The Last Mile Team Lead supervises a team of last-mile delivery operators at Jumia, ensuring timely, accurate execution of door delivery operations, strong customer experience, and consistent KPI performance.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and supervise a team of Last Mile Delivery Operators/Associates to ensure timely and accurate execution of door delivery operations.
  • Assign daily delivery tasks and routes based on workload, priorities, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor driver-customer communication to ensure a positive delivery experience.
  • Coach and develop delivery associates to improve day-to-day delivery productivity.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Monitor team performance and KPIs, such as on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, closed success rate, and vehicle utilization, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Promote road safety and risk mitigation practices among delivery teams.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Warehouse Operations, Network, and Customer Service, to resolve delivery exceptions and escalations.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of delivery activities, vehicle maintenance, and driver performance.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment focused on continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in logistics operations, transportation, or last-mile delivery services, including experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in technology tools for route planning, tracking, and reporting (e.g., GPS, route optimization software).
  • Must have NYSC Certificate or possess a valid exemption letter.
  • Candidate must be based in Port Harcourt.
