The laser welder operator, with a use of a laser welder machine, and visual help of a microscope, builds up jewelry walls and unlimited shapes, repairs precious jewelry with basic and advance process using wire and instructions provide by Tiffany &Co. within prescribe production times Preps pieces, remove, and add wire material in different metals such as Sterling Silver,18Y & 18R gold, platinum, etc. as needed to meet the Quality Standards. Performs duties associated with the manufacturing components and finished good primarily working with welding of different types of castings and machine parts.

Key Accountabilities

  • · Work safely always, by consistently following safe work procedures for position as well as all safety procedures required at your workstation.
  • Report immediately al incidents and safety issues to your supervisor/manager.
  • Proficient with the use of the laser weld machine.
  • Demonstrate the ability to Laser weld casted and machine components to the Tiffany & Co. standard. Parts must be to spec and ready for the next process.
  • Perform repairs as needed, demonstrate knowledge of the angles and settings to fill with wire.
  • Understand and perform setting adjustments, and how it affects the metal.
  • Build up walls and metal repairs like holes, porosity, cracks, toolmarks and other defects, etc.
  • Understand angles and smoothing the metal.
  • Knowledgeable in heat conduction in metal. Understanding of Argon use and settings.
  • Deliver quality parts in timely manner and keeping the departments efficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.
  • Maintain 6S housekeeping programs, along with continuous improvements.
  • Participate in activities related to new product development and implementation into production.
  • Proposes continuous improvement opportunities for all processes.
  • Perform first piece and in-process inspection of products for assurance of continued compliance to quality standards for dimensional, aesthetic, form, fit and function features as well as minimizing scrap and defective product.
  • Participates in 6S activities and ensures a clean and safe work environment is maintained. Build partnerships within and across departments to provide efficiency and create a supportive work environment.

  • Ability to work with hand tools: files, Foredoom and Scopes
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resolutions
  • Ability to adapt to change for the needs of the company; flexibility is important Ability to work in a high volume fast paced work atmosphere
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend overtime as business needs arises
  • Must understand company safety: wear safety glasses; utilize Plexiglas shield and proper procedure when handling sharp tools and chemicals.
  • Must be able to communication and understand English language
