  • Confirm that data is suitable for its intended use, including design, modeling, as-built documentation, coordination, and visualization.
  • Investigate data quality issues, identify their cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain clear records of project methods, control, processing steps, quality checks, limitations, and exceptions.

Staff Leadership and Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop laser scanning personnel, including field technicians and processing staff.
  • Set clear expectations for technical quality, communication, safety, equipment care, and project accountability.
  • Assess training needs and provide or coordinate instruction in scanning equipment, field methods, processing software, and quality procedures.

  • Evaluate hardware, software, and workflow improvements that may improve quality, efficiency, or client access to data.
  • Coordinate secure data transfer, storage, backup, archiving, and retention in accordance with company and project requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of file sizes, software compatibility, and practical access needs for downstream users.

Safety and Business Development

  • Promote safe work practices and ensure scanning plans account for site hazards, access requirements, and applicable company procedures.
  • Coordinate with project teams and HSE personnel on job-specific safety planning.
  • Support client meetings and business development activities by explaining scanning capabilities, methods, deliverables, and limitations.
  • Help develop repeatable service offerings and identify ways to integrate terrestrial scanning with survey, UAV, mobile mapping, and engineering workflows.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CAD and design workflows, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or CADWorx, is preferred.
  • Experience with industrial facilities, piping, process plants, energy, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Strong communication, planning, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
