Position Responsibilities
Maintains a safe workplace by adhering to and supporting Amentum’sSafeUp® program and all US Antarctic Program (USAP) safety policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Operates shuttle service vehicles on varying road surfaces in inclement weather conditions with consideration for passenger safety. Vehicles include 11-14 passenger vans, Foremost Delta II with passenger compartment,Foremost56-passenger Terra Bus, and Kress/ Caterpillar 730 tractor-trailer with 59-passenger module.
Transports passengers and flight crew members to and from the airfield ramp while obeying all airfield safety requirements.
Performs and documentsrequiredmechanical and fluid checks of shuttle vehicles prior to and during operation.
Completes required shuttle and taxi logs.
Communicates via two-way radioin accordance withprescribed procedures and proper radio etiquette.
Provides Scott Base shuttle service asrequired
Provides transportation for Long Duration Balloon (LDB) personnel.
Provides morning and evening shift change transportation for 109th AW personnel.
Provides on-call taxi service.
Monitors flight departure and return landing times, passenger transportation needs, taxi service needs, and othervarious tasking as adispatcher,dispatches tasking accordingly.
Performs “bellhop” service upon request for both incoming and outgoing flights.
Interacts with the NationalScienceFoundation,military, and other agency officials, both over the telephone and in person, in a professional and tactful manner.
Activelyparticipatesinsafety briefings and meetings.Performs Job HazardAnalyses, Work Center Inspections, and other safety reports,asrequired
Provides light vehicle training for otherdepartmentsas necessary.
Provides large passenger vehicle training internally as necessary.
Supports otherdepartmentsas necessary.
Must be able to interact with all team members in a positive and productive manner.
Responsible formaintainingworkplace programsand ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

Required Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:
High School diploma orGED
A minimum of oneyear vehicle and/or equipment operating experience with at least six months of operating large capacity passenger vehicles and/or tractor-trailer over-the-road vehicles.
Expected Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service experience.
Good multi-tasking, and organizational skills, and basic computer knowledge.
Preferred:
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
Physical and/or Other Requirements
Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by the NSF for deployment to Antarctica
Successful completion of drug screening and background check required by employer
Successful completion of Federal Background Check required by the NSF
Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum as required by the position.
Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors in extreme cold as required by the position.
Mustparticipatein community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts & safetyobjectives
Valid Driver’s License issued in the United States
Must be able to obtain andmaintainfacility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship isrequiredfor facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
