The Large Padmount Repair Technician is responsible for repairing, testing, and supporting maintenance activities for large padmount transformers and related power distribution equipment. This role focuses on ensuring repairs meet quality, safety, and performance standards prior to equipment leaving the workstation. The technician works independently and collaboratively to meet production goals while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. The position requires hands-on technical skill, attention to detail, and adherence to company safety and operating procedures.

Transformer Repair and Service
Emerald Transformer provides a full range of repair services for transformers, regulators, reclosers, control panels, and other ancillary equipment.
Transformer Refurbishment
Refurbished or Remanufactured transformers are an economical and waste-minimizing alternative to new equipment, and Emerald Transformer offers both direct refurbishment of our customers’ existing transformers and the sale of refurbished transformers that have been retired by other utilities.
Transformer Decommissioning
Emerald Transformer provides comprehensive decommissioning and disposal services, with a particular emphasis on safely detecting, analyzing, handling, and disposing of PCBs. Emerald Transformer can also dispatch seasoned field crews to dismantle larger equipment on site or perform forensic teardowns to facilitate failure analysis.
Oil Processing
Our oil recycling facilities process millions of gallons of oil annually. Our industry-leading, environmentally sensitive methods remove PCBs and unwanted water and particulates, returning the clean oil to new life as lubricants and base oils, as well as regenerated transformer oil for the utility industry.
