Position Summary

The Large Loss Team is responsible for leading restoration crews and overseeing restoration activities associated with large commercial and residential losses, storm events, and other high-volume emergency response situations.

This position serves as a primary field leader, coordinating crews, equipment, materials, and daily work activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to SERVPRO's high standards.

The Large Loss Supervisor must be adaptable and willing to respond to emergency situations that may require extended hours, overtime, on-call availability, overnight stays, and travel outside of the local service area. During major storms or other high-influx events, this position may be required to travel and work extended schedules to support customers and company operations.

As the face of SERVPRO in the field, you'll demonstrate our Here to Help® commitment by communicating professionally with customers, insurance representatives, contractors, project managers, and team members throughout every project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise restoration technicians on large-loss, residential, and commercial restoration projects.
  • Coordinate and direct crews in the field to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
  • Assign daily work activities and communicate priorities clearly to team members.
  • Perform and oversee water, fire, mold, storm, specialty cleaning, demolition, and other restoration services.
  • Assist with mobilization and demobilization of crews and equipment for large-loss and storm response projects.
  • Manage multiple crews, job sites, and changing priorities during high-volume events.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining clear and consistent communication throughout the restoration process.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, insurance representatives, property managers, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project quality and ensure all work meets SERVPRO standards and applicable industry requirements.
  • Identify jobsite hazards and enforce all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and required PPE procedures.
  • Create and maintain detailed, accurate job documentation, including photos, notes, moisture readings, equipment records, daily logs, and other required documentation.
  • Manage labor hours, equipment usage, and consumable materials to maximize efficiency and control project costs.
  • Monitor crew productivity and make adjustments as necessary to keep projects on schedule.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Restoration Technicians to support their professional growth and development.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees and temporary/supplemental labor when needed.
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, staffing needs, equipment requirements, and scheduling concerns with the Restoration Manager and office staff.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Ensure equipment is properly placed, monitored, documented, maintained, and removed from jobsites.
  • Assist with warehouse organization, facility maintenance, equipment preparation, and inventory management.
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call rotations as required.
  • Be available and willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and extended hours when business or emergency response demands require it.
  • Be willing to travel for large-loss projects, storm events, catastrophic losses, and periods of high job volume.
  • Support out-of-town deployments, including extended travel and overnight stays, when necessary.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent SERVPRO positively at all times.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing training and industry certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Large Loss & Storm Response Expectations

  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays during emergency response situations.
  • Travel to support storm events, catastrophic losses, and high-influx periods.

  • Stay overnight or for extended periods when required by a large-loss deployment.
  • Work effectively with crews from multiple locations or branches.
  • Adapt quickly to changing schedules, priorities, and project requirements.
