A Landscape Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to install and maintain outdoor spaces for residential and commercial properties. This includes planting trees, shrubs, and flowers; installing sod or mulch; operating landscaping equipment; and performing tasks such as weeding, pruning, and irrigation setup. The technician ensures that all work is completed according to design plans, safety standards, and customer expectations. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in outdoor environments.
Requirements
A Landscape Technician typically requires some experience or training in landscaping, along with a basic knowledge of planting, mulching, pruning, and operating landscaping tools and equipment. The role demands physical strength and stamina, as it involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing manual labor. Attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions and landscape plans, and a strong work ethic are essential. A valid driver’s license is often preferred, and safety awareness is important when handling tools and materials. Certifications in landscaping or horticulture are a plus but not always required.
