Primary Work Location:
Multisite staff work across several program locations throughout Alameda County, providing care and support wherever it is most needed. These sites offer a range of services, including post-hospitalization medically supported shelter, medical respite care, skilled nursing, and caregiving support.

Summary:
The Landscaping and Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining the exterior appearance, safety, and functionality of Cardea Health properties across multiple program sites. This role performs landscaping, groundskeeping, and basic facility maintenance duties to ensure a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for clients, staff, and visitors. The Landscaping and Facilities Technician works independently across multiple locations and collaborates with program and operations staff to identify and address property maintenance needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Landscaping and Groundskeeping
- Maintain all exterior grounds, landscaping, and common outdoor areas across multiple sites
- Mow lawns, trim hedges, prune shrubs and trees, and remove weeds
- Plant, water, fertilize, and care for landscaping as needed
- Maintain irrigation systems and report or address minor repairs
- Remove litter, debris, and hazards from outdoor areas
- Maintain parking lots, walkways, patios, and exterior gathering spaces
- Assist with seasonal landscaping projects and property beautification efforts
- Monitor grounds for safety concerns and address issues promptly
Facilities Maintenance
- Perform basic facility maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, touch-ups, and preventative maintenance
- Assist with furniture assembly, moving equipment, and room setup projects
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and other basic building components
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs
- Report on major maintenance concerns requiring specialized contractors
- Assist with emergency maintenance needs as assigned
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with organizational safety policies
- Maintain landscaping and maintenance equipment in safe working conditions
- Follow proper procedures for equipment operation and storage
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance of storage areas
- Participate in required safety training
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain records of completed work orders and maintenance activities
- Communicate regularly with supervisors regarding project status and property needs
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of landscaping and maintenance supplies
- Support organizational projects and site improvements as assigned

Minimum Required Skills &

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of landscaping, groundskeeping, maintenance, or related experience
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Must have your own vehicle for reliable transportation between sites. The vehicle needs to be able to transport a lawnmower between sites
- Ability to travel between multiple program locations
- Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and basic maintenance tools
- Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions
Preferred Skills &

Qualifications:
- Two (2) or more years of professional landscaping or facilities maintenance experience
- Experience maintaining multiple properties or commercial facilities
- Basic knowledge of irrigation systems, plumbing, electrical, or general building maintenance
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, and ascending stairs
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Frequent pushing and pulling
- Frequent reaching high, low, and level

Work Environment:
- In-person onsite at a supportive housing facility
