LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN-WV PARKWAYS AUTHORITY-RALEIGH CO.
Location of Position: Beckley, WV
Eligible for Overtime
Starting Pay: $17.48 hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB
• Mowing, edge, and trim lawns and landscaped areas.
• Plant flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Prune trees, bushes, hedges to promote healthy growth and appearance.
• Apply mulch, fertilizer and lawn treatments as directed by the foreman.
• Remove weeds, debris, leaves, and litter from grounds.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Assist with landscape installation projects, sod installation, and planting.
• Deliver supplies to all travel plazas and rest areas along the Turnpike.
• Responsible for maintaining greenhouse.
• Trash pickup in specific areas along the Turnpike.
• Other duties as assigned.
Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Must be able to pass background check.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Some highway maintenance experience desired.
Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, or lawn care experience preferred.
Knowledge of plant identification and maintenance practices preferred.
