Job Description

Green by Nature is seeking a qualified and experienced Landscape Gardener to join our growing team. This role involves the construction, maintenance and presentation of commercial landscapes across a range of sites including schools, universities, councils, and land and property developments.

The successful applicant will perform landscape maintenance and construction tasks in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, trimming and aeration to required standards
• Prepare soil and plant flowers, shrubs and trees in accordance with landscape plans
• Prune trees, shrubs and hedges and undertake weed control activities
• Apply fertilisers, compost and soil treatments as required
• Identify and manage plant pests and diseases using appropriate methods
• Install, inspect and maintain irrigation systems
• Assist with the construction and maintenance of pathways, garden beds, retaining walls and drainage systems
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including ride-on mowers, tractors and Ventracs
• Remove and dispose of green waste and site debris correctly
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and environmental regulations at all times

Skills and Experience Required

• Certificate III in Landscape Construction or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated experience in commercial landscaping or grounds maintenance
• Ability to operate landscaping machinery and tools safely
• Understanding of plant care, soil preparation and irrigation systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong awareness of workplace safety requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• White Card (Construction Induction) or willingness to obtain
• Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain
• National Police Check or willingness to obtain

Employment Conditions and Benefits

• Permanent full-time position
• Salary range $70,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience
