Hours: Mon-Fri 7a-3:30p
Rate: $22.38
This is a seasonal Position
OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
The Landscape Contract Worker maintains the grounds of the facility, repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.), trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, sprays lawns, shrubs and trees with fertilizer or insecticide
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
• Plant Grass, flowers, trees and maintaining them utilizing hoses or activating sprinkler system.
• Mow grass utilizing a commercial mower
• Pick up and burn, or cart away, leaves, paper, or other litter
• Repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, or other structures
• Removal of trash and recyclables
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
• Works as part of a team to ensure the requirements of the contract are fulfilled
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
• Previous landscaping experience or related training
• Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi- task
• Good customer service skills
• Able to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to function as part of a cohesive team
EDUATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Previous Landscaping experience required
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
• Capable of walking around the location to accomplish various tasks
• Must be capable of standing for several hours
• Must be able to withstand cold temperatures in the winter and warm temperatures in the summer. Position is based outdoors
• Must be able to lift >20 lbs.
• Must be able to push a shovel or other garden tool
• Must be able to climb hills and embankments
• Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
• Must be able to reach overhead to get at higher locations
Must be willing to learn how to operate landscaping equipment
