Job Description

Conducts and certifies land surveys and technical documentation, coordinates multidisciplinary surveying activities, and ensures compliance with standards and processes to deliver accurate data, optimize project planning, and support effective civil and infrastructure solutions.

  • Executes and certifies land surveys and technical documentation (including Elevation Certificates, FAA 2C letters, and civil plans, and right‑of‑way surveys—ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and proper routing or re‑routing for transmission, distribution, and civil works projects.

  • Coordinates and manages surveying activities within multidisciplinary teams of engineers and field personnel, supporting planning, scheduling, coordination, and cost estimation to ensure efficient, high‑quality project delivery.

  • Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility

  • Reviews, develops, and improves land surveying specifications, standards, and processes, ensuring technical feasibility, completeness, and alignment with project objectives and practical field limitations.

  • Provides technical support for civil, seismic, and geotechnical design, ensuring accurate integration of survey data into engineering drawings, proposals, and project estimates.

  • Supports contractor management by assisting supervisors in overseeing surveying and engineering contractors and providing guidance to field organizations and internal teams.

  • Participates in surveying equipment procurement, ensuring proper selection and availability to meet project requirements.

  • Monitors compliance with policies, standards, and quality expectations while assessing process effectiveness and contributing to continuous improvement.

  • Delivers training and guidance to stakeholders to strengthen understanding of survey requirements and adoption of best practices across teams.

  • Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.

  • Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.

  • Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Additional Job Description:

`Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Surveying from an accredited university.

Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience in land surveying for infrastructure or civil projects, including responsibility for executing surveys, certifying technical documentation, and managing survey data collection, analysis, and interpretation, with proven ability to ensure compliance with technical standards.

  • Experience working with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.

  • Experience leading or collaborating with small projects.

  • Experience as matter-expert and asset resource to provide support to internal/external clients.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, preferably in English and Spanish.

  • Strong knowledge operating surveying instruments such as total stations, GNSS RTK system, Laser Scanner, drones and levels.

  • Proficiency in LiDAR data collection, point cloud processing, and analysis software (e.g., Autocad, Civil3D Trimble Business Center, LAStools, Pix4D, Carlson Point Cloud).

Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s license in Puerto Rico.

  • Professional Land Surveying License issued by the Puerto Rico Examining Board for Engineers, Architects, Surveyors and Landscape Architects is required.

  • Be a member of the Puerto Rico Association of Engineers and Surveyors is required.

  • Remote Pilot Certificate FAA Part 107 is preferred.
