Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our Survey team in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Our team provides a full range of survey services including boundary surveying, preparation of legal descriptions for easements and parcel boundaries, topographic mapping, construction layout, control surveys, route surveys, as-built surveys.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant areas of surveying.
• Prepares CAD drawings, reviewing, and processing the results of field surveys, and verifying the accuracy of field survey data.
• Communicates effectively with members of the team and follows standard procedures to complete assigned tasks.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficiency in MicroStation V8i/ORD to NCDOT Location and Survey Standards.
• Proficiency of NCDOT Location & Survey Standards.
• Working Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Software, TDS and Carlson data collection software are preferred.
• Proficiency in operating conventional, robotic total stations and GPS surveys to NCDOT Location and Survey Standards are preferred.
• Working knowledge of field to finish production of ALTA Surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking for civil engineering projects is a plus.

Education and Experience

• Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in AutoCAD, Surveying, Geomatics or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience Is preferred.
• Good driving record and valid Driver’s License.
• 3+ years of Land Surveying and CAD technician experience.
• Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
