Devon’s Land Internship provides students with the opportunity to learn and apply land management principles in a professional office environment. Students participate in both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world tasks and projects. This program is designed to help students develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career opportunities at Devon.

Responsibilities:

• Perform duties typically assigned to an entry-level landman.
• Apply business principles, theories, and concepts to daily assignments.
• Assist with lease set-ups, field activity records in courthouses, and monitoring commission activity (OCC, TXRRC).
• Support the preparation and review of title opinions, workover and recompletion proposals, DOI directives, and farmout monitoring.
• Conduct research and analysis to support land projects and initiatives.
• Provide assistance on projects assigned by land staff as needed.
• Participate in meetings, events, training sessions, and workshops to develop professional skills.
• Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to problems and support day-to-day operations.
• Complete a summer project and present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.

Technical Exposure:

• Exposure to land title software and tools.
• Application of technical skills acquired in college to real-world scenarios.
• Advanced computer proficiency, with the ability to optimize and automate processes.
• Curious and eager to explore AI, data, and technology, with opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and innovations.

Education

• Full-time student pursuing a degree in Energy Management.
• College level: Sophomore, Junior
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
