Role Land Manager

Your new role

As Land Manager, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Land acquisition – The Land Manager is responsible for identifying sites that are suitable for development in locations that fit the business criteria. Sites must be of a suitable size and quality to satisfy the current strategy for land development and satisfy the current financial criteria being applied to appraisals in line with the land strategy and business plan.
  • Internal resources and external consultants must be managed and controlled cost effectively and within Key Date deadlines in order to assist with identification and progression of suitable land opportunities from identification through to the issue of statutory consents.
  • Selecting & short listing identified sites for further detailed investigation and appraisal by the management team. Sites selected must have potential to achieve consents within the missive timescale & at reasonable cost to avoid expensive abortive costs.
  • Coordinating the Management Team to ensure that detailed investigations, instruction of layouts & market research are completed within agreed timescales in order to commence & compile a Land Report File for all sites identified to be taken forward to a land bid stage
  • Seek detailed market research, suitable product mix and recommended selling prices from the Sales & Marketing Director to ensure that a robust bid is made for all sites that have been identified as being suitable for the business needs.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a sound working knowledge of land, technical and commercial processes, and utilising these within the Land bid and procurement stages. You’ll be familiar with contracts, land and property law, and construction technology and techniques, and you’ll have significant analytical and problem solving skills. Health & Safety will be just as important, and you’ll be a genuine team player who can network and communicate effectively with clients, consultants and subcontractors at all levels of business.
