Prince William County’s Department of Development Services is offering creative, challenging, and rewarding work as a Land Development Project Manager. We are looking for motivated professionals who will take the lead and solve problems.

About This Role:

  • Manage Land Development Site Plan projects.
  • Proactively resolve engineering, ordinance, proffer, and other Code issues.
  • Respond to information requests.
  • Provide input to the update of County Codes and guidance documents.
  • Conduct site visits.
  • Resolve engineering and field issues with Engineers and Site Inspectors.
  • Research projects.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. and 6 years of related experience. Related experience is defined as work involving land development approval and/or construction processes, including but not limited to, plan and regulatory review, coordination with developers and/or their representatives, and project management.

Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, urban planning, or a related field.
  • 3 years of professional experience related to land development tasks, such as the review of site and subdivision plans.
  • 1-2 years of project management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in Land Development regulations and concepts.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings/plans.
  • Knowledge and application of the zoning ordinance, subdivision ordinance, and Design and Construction Standards Manual (DCSM).
  • Experience interpreting proffers and special use conditions, as related to the Land Development process.
  • Experience with independently performing project management for site development projects.
  • Experience utilizing various computer software programs.

Work Schedule:

  • This position works a standard Monday-Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • This position can telework 1-2 days per week after an initial probationary period.
  • This is a telework-eligible position that may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.

Starting Salary Range:

$76,069.50 - $103,426.25
