Job Description

Job Summary:


The Land Coordinator is responsible for supporting all land acquisition efforts to ensure efficient and strategic purchases that align with company goals. This role includes coordinating land acquisition progress with business leaders, tracking and recording the performance of employees, consultants, and land agents involved in the process, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the land purchasing cycle. The Land Coordinator will contribute to the company’s growth by securing and managing land assets, preparing presentation materials for management to present to corporate, and coordinating necessary travel for land-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support all land acquisition efforts, from identifying potential properties to obtaining site control for projects.
  • Maintain a portfolio of land leases and owned land throughout the United States; execute transactions or agreements aligned with the development team’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, real estate professionals, and government agencies.
  • Coordinate and communicate land acquisition progress to business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Track and record employee progress related to land acquisitions, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
  • Oversee due diligence processes, including zoning, environmental assessments, and legal considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding land purchases and development.
  • Monitor market trends and land values to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage budgets and financial forecasting for land acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, and development departments, to streamline land purchasing operations.
  • Prepare presentation materials for management to present to corporate.
  • Travel for 6–8 trips per year, each lasting at least one week, to support land acquisition and management activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in residential or commercial development.
  • Familiarity with GIS mapping and land management software.
  • Certification in real estate or land acquisition is a plus.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in land acquisition, real estate, or a related industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze market data and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Knowledge of land use regulations, zoning laws, and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in project management and tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Our assets generally have contracted revenue (Regulated revenues in Spain, Chile TL 3 and Italy). Most of the assets we own, or which we hold an interest in, have project-finance agreements in place. We own or have an interest in a portfolio of diversified assets, both in terms of business sector and geographic footprint. We currently have operating facilities in North America (United States, Canada and Mexico), South America (Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Colombia) and EMEA (United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Algeria and South Africa). We intend to expand our portfolio, maintaining North America and Europe as our core geographies.

We intend to grow our business and our dividend to shareholders through the development and construction of projects including expansion and repowering opportunities, as well as greenfield development, third-party acquisitions, and the optimization of our existing portfolio. We currently have a pipeline of assets under development of approximately 2.2 GW of renewable energy and 6.0 GWh of storage.
