The Opportunity
The Land Access Representative is a fast-paced, high-volume role that supports the successful transition of projects from design through to delivery. The role is responsible for coordinating and securing permits, approvals and land access requirements across environmental, local council, state government, heritage and cultural requirements, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant and completed within required timeframes.
Duties include:
• Conduct and document discussions with external stakeholders, landowners and government bodies to ensure community engagement and consultation requirements are understood and met.
• Interpret consultation findings and prepare approval, permit and assessment documentation for field teams, ensuring compliance with land access requirements.
• Work closely with project, operations and planning teams to develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Review, collect, manage and maintain relevant environmental and land access data.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across Downer, client and government systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience in a high-volume, accuracy-critical administrative, coordination or project support environment.
• Exposure to state, local and national heritage approval processes and associated compliance requirements (desirable).
• A confident and proactive communicator who is comfortable building relationships and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, maintain attention to detail and remain highly organised in a fast-paced environment.
• A self-starter who can quickly build capability in the role, take ownership of outcomes and confidently pick up the phone to resolve issues, gather information and keep projects moving.
