Job Description

The server’s primary responsibility is providing an elevated guest experience in our theatre by accurately describing all menu items, including preparation methods and potential allergens, taking orders, and delivering orders, and collecting payment. The server is an integral part of the success of the theatre by contributing to sales, daily jobs, and overall guest satisfaction.

What You Will Be Doing:
• Greet guests and make them feel comfortable by establishing a personal connection.
• Take accurate food/beverage orders to include item modifications and enter them into the POS or handheld device.
• Monitor call button notifications and guest requests.
• Knowledgeable of items sold at the theatre, able to answer questions, make recommendations and upsell.
• Deliver food and beverage orders to all tables/guests to Harkins’ standards.
• Communicate promptly and courteously with all guests.
• Provide exemplary service to include refilling beverages, clearing tables and seats, while exceeding guest expectations.
• Accurately collect payment from guests.
• Communicate effectively with guests, management and all team members.
• Maintain a clean working environment and follow operating checklists.
• Ensure server stations are set up and stocked for service.
• Follow all applicable liquor laws and company policies.
• Understand and follow proper rules of hygiene and food safety measures.

What We Are Looking For:
• 1+ year experience in high volume restaurant setting preferred.
• Required to be at least 19 years of age.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to be able to work in a fast-paced, loud environment and in a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Required to obtain and maintain a current food handler’s card and/or food safety certification.
• Required to complete Responsible Vendor Training.
• Requires bending, stretching, reaching, squatting, twisting, standing, walking up and down stairs and on flat surfaces, lifting (up to 50 pounds), interacting with guests and employees, problem solving, and cognitive skills.
• Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace and possess basic math skills, be fiscally responsible and operate a point-of-sale system.
