The Lactation Consultant RN_Pool manages the needs and care of the breastfeeding family. Educates women, their partners, families, health professionals, and the community about breastfeeding and human lactation. Provides patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification, registration, and/or assessed competencies. Practice will be in accordance with laws and regulations and will adhere to established policies, procedures and practice guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Assess latch, milk transfer, and infant feeding behavior; develop individual care plans for complex lactation issues.
  • Patient Education: Counsel families on positioning, pumping, milk storage, and maintaining supply during separation or illness.
  • Staff Training: Provide competency-based education and mentorship to nursing and medical staff regarding evidence-based lactation protocols.
  • Documentation: Record accurate clinical assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record system.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in postpartum, mother-baby, or neonatal
